1974年、福岡生まれ。10代半ばにパンクロックに衝撃を受け、ギタリストとして音楽活動を開始。1992年からはDJとしても活動を始め、福岡・九州を拠点に全国のパーティーでプレイ。テクノ、ハウス、実験音楽を中心に、電子音楽家としての楽曲制作も行った。

2005年にはDJや電子音楽の活動を終え、即興演奏家としての道へと進む。アコースティックギターやフィールドレコーディングを用いた演奏からスタートし、現在はエレクトリックギターとエフェクターを駆使したスタイルで活動している。

また、2000年に始めたロードバイクとの出会いをきっかけに、ライド中に目にする風景を記録するために手にしたコンパクトカメラから写真の世界に惹かれ、写真家としての活動をスタート。2016年に初個展を開催して以降、作品制作を軸に、エディトリアル、コマーシャル、ファッション、ライブ、アクティビティ、ポートレートなど幅広い分野で活動している。現在は写真を中心に、アートディレクションやデザインワークなど、ビジュアル全般に関わる表現へと領域を広げている。

さらに、年間数千キロを走る熱心なサイクリストとしても知られ、2023年には福岡から北海道まで約2,500kmを自転車で縦断。その旅の途中で撮影した写真をもとに、旅の終着地で展覧会を開催するなど、音楽、アート、自転車といったジャンルの垣根を超えた活動へと深化している。

was born in Fukuoka in 1974. Captivated by punk rock in his mid-teens, he began his musical journey as a guitarist. From 1992, he also started working as a DJ, performing at parties across Japan while based in Fukuoka and the Kyushu region. His sets focused on techno, house, and experimental music, and he was also active as an electronic music producer.

In 2005, he brought his DJ and electronic music career to a close and shifted toward improvisational performance. Starting with acoustic guitar and field recordings, he later developed a style centered on electric guitar and effects, which he continues to explore today.

His encounter with road cycling in 2000 sparked a new direction. Wanting to capture the scenery he encountered while riding, he picked up a compact camera—thus beginning his photographic practice. Since his first solo exhibition in 2016, he has worked extensively across editorial, commercial, fashion, live performance, portraiture, and other genres. His current focus lies in photography, while also expanding into art direction and design, embracing all facets of visual expression.

Tanno is also an avid cyclist who rides thousands of kilometers each year. In 2023, he completed a 2,500-kilometer journey from Fukuoka to Hokkaido by bicycle. Along the way, he photographed the evolving landscapes and held an exhibition at his final destination. His work continues to evolve across and beyond the realms of music, art, and cycling.
